Background about the college:
Nema is the village in Lar block in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh State, India. It belongs to Gorakhpur Division which is located 49 kms towards South from district Head Quarters and 10 kms from Lar and 7 kms from Bhagalpur Block. Female literacy in 2006 was just 22% which was prime reason for the idea under the opening of Singasani Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya. Early 2005 when Mr Ramsingar Singh retried from his Government job & came back to spent his rest of the life with his family and the younger brother Mr. Sumant Singh. While discussing about local issues the one which certainly they had in common was female literacy which pulled down society drastically and the impact was very much visible on the society. After long discussion they decided to contribute for society and finally their dream took real shape in 2007 when two brothers who had common vision on the same issue were trying to do something for the females who did not able continue their education after senior secondary standard were able to continue their education with in the village itself. When Gorakhpur University granted their society to start UG class in 2006. both brothers transferred their land to society to fulfil criteria which was required to registered society who can run UG class. After so many successful operations finally time comes when girls started demand for some professional courses and despite so many hurdles finally management has decided to apply for BED courses and got affiliation form NCERT AND Gorakhpur University as well. Today the college is going to celebrate 13th anniversary & is on the verge of completing first Batch of BED course successfully. We hereby declare the sad demise of one of founder members Mr.SUMANT SINGH who has immensely contributed for this institution and his laid foundation will show the glorious path to all those students who have the will and confident in themselves to achieve something in life on the basis of education. We assure that dream what was seen in 2006 by two brothers, we as institute will always keep their ambition and dream our first and foremost priority.
